Sari affair: Celina Jaitley on her favourite outfit

celina
I really liked this interview by Celina. She is the brand ambassador for saree!
Source dnaIndiaWhat do you have to say to the women of today who dread wearing the sari?
Sari is the only friend of a woman — it can be draped over all shapes, sizes and never lets you down, no matter what the occasion. Embrace your national outfit with love and explore a world of the most sensuous outfit, six yards of a beautiful drape which outshines all other garments.
Has the sari re-invented itself?
The sari has always been the same — vibrant colours, fabrics and can be draped in multiple ways. The only thing changed is the marketing strategy by various brands. The effort has been to bring it into the wardrobe of all age groups and break the myth that it should be worn only bymature woman. I think that is re-invention of sorts and quite a wonderful one at that!
Which of the Indian designers do you think have changed the way a sari is looked at?
I cannot give credit to any designer. The credit actually goes to icons like Rekha, Sridevi, Rajmata Gayatri Devi, Madhuri Dixit and directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali who presented the sari in its full glory in his films like Devdas, Yash Chopra in Chandni and brands like Jashn, who are working towards making the sari appealing to women of all ages.
Which of Indian style of draping the sari do you prefer personally?
The seedha pallu and the Bengali style are my most favourite
drapes; they make you feel really sensuous.
Which Indian woman do you think looks best in sari apart from you?
Rekha and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for their incredible sense of style.
